Autumn 2 2025

Week beginning 24th November 2025

Early Years have enjoyed reading the new Autumn themed book ‘We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt’. We have explored different colours, sizes and shapes of leaves and made our own versions. We have done some vegetable printing and made our own Autumn trees.

We were able to enjoy some ice play this week too. We tried to melt the ice, we transported parts of it and even painted some.

We loved our Dance PE lesson, learning some new moves and working in pairs.

Week beginning 17th November 2025

Early Years took part in odd sock day for anti-bullying awareness along with the rest of the school.

We made some Autumn leaf crafts using the leaves we had collected and dried, making leaf art pictures and leaf people.

We also learned about Judaism in our RE lessons. We now know about Hannukah and made our own Menorahs, counting the candles to check we had the right amount.

Week beginning 10th November 2025

Early Years took part in Nursery Rhyme Week. We sang the new rhyme each day and completed some activities around the theme of the rhyme. This year’s rhymes were: Sing A Song Of Sixpence; Humpty Dumpty; When I Was One; I Hear Thunder; and Two Little Dickie Birds.

We made poppies on Remembrance Day and learned what it was all about, who we remember and why. We were also able to be respectful for the 2 minutes silence – well done!

Thank you to the parents and grandparents who joined us for the Wellcomm Stay and Play Workshop. We learned a lot and can’t wait to put our new found knowledge into practise.

Week beginning 3rd November 2025

Early Years took part in Bonfire Night activities – making sparklers and different firework pictures using different materials. We also talked about how to stay safe around bonfires, sparklers and fireworks.

We loved our first PE Dance lesson!  We joined in the actions and movements, using shakers and scarves too.

As part of our Autumn theme, we cut open and explored the pumpkin, seeing what it looks like inside, scooping out the seeds and feeling the different textures.

As our Cube Jar Reward, we chose to come to school in our own clothes or costumes to have a party – well done Early Years!
