Anne Bullerwell has been Headteacher at St Cuthbert's since 2005. She was Deputy Headteacher until 2013 and then was appointed Headteacher in 2013. Before joining St Cuthbert's, she worked as an Assessment and Literacy Consultant for Newcastle Local Authority. Her first teaching post, after graduating from Bretton Hall (University of Leeds) with a Bachelor of Education (Honours in English), was in Wombwell Oakfield Junior School which she began in 1996. After two years teaching there, Mrs Bullerwell was appointed as an Advanced Skills Teacher and in 2002, she completed her National Professional Qualification for Headship. Mrs Bullerwell lives in Consett and is married to David whom she met in 1985. They have two children together, Connor and Jack. In September 2022, Mrs Bullerwell was asked by BBCET to take on the temporary role of Executive Headteacher at St George's Catholic Primary School in Lemington which she is thrilled about.

Christine Lawson graduated from Sunderland University with a degree in Early Childhood and Curriculum Studies in 2005. She has had a range of jobs in and around childcare and schools, which have included, Teaching Assistant, SEN Support Assistant, Operational Manager of Out of School Clubs, Nursery Nurse and Manager of a Preschool; gaining further qualifications over the years, such as, Early Years Professional Status. In 2015, she embarked on her teaching career and studied through Carmel Teacher Training Collage. She worked for 3 years as a class teacher at St Stephen’s and joined St George’s in 2018.
Christine loves to spend time with her amazing nieces, nephew and Godchildren. She also loves socialising with friends, going to gigs and theatre shows. When she’s at home, she loves nothing more than cuddling up with her cat, Harry, watching tv or reading a book.

Leanne began at St. George's in 2017 as a volunteer, leading to the completion of her level 2 teaching assistant course. In 2018/9 Leanne was offered a permanent role and continued her training to complete her level 3 teaching assistant course.
Leanne has 3 children - Connor, Lacey and Imogen plus 3 cats. She loves to run in her spare time, leading groups at her local running club. She regularly runs half marathons and is currently training for her first marathon.

Gillian Ellin graduated from the University of Liverpool with an honours degree in medieval and modern history. Following that I had a successful career in Human Resources Management before joining St.George's in 2013 as a teaching assistant. I have progressed my career in education, recently I completed my PGCE in July 2020.
I live in Prudhoe and I am married to David . We have two children - Jessica and Emily . We all enjoy walking in the outdoors with our dog. I also like to run with my local club, reading and listening to music.

Rebecca McMahon joined the team at St. George’s in 2019. She has since taught across Key Stage 2. She graduated from the University of Northumbria with a Degree in Guidance and Counselling and Early Years and went on to spend four invaluable years in a Nursery. She ended her time there as SENCO, Pre-school Senior and helping to run holiday club for children up to the age of eleven. Rebecca’s passion for teaching led her to gain her PGCE – again through Northumbria University – then completing her NQT year in the South Tyneside area teaching in Key Stage one. In her spare time, Miss McMahon likes to hike and go on long walks with her partner Ryan; especially when dog sitting for her family dog Indy.

Prior to graduating with a joint honours degree in Care & Education of Very Young Children and Professional Practice Studies, and completing a PGCE, Helen Douglass worked in Playwork and Family Support for Newcastle City Council. Since 2005, she has taught at St. George's. In that time she has taught across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2 and led a range of subjects.
Outside of school, Helen is married with two daughters, both of whom attend another local Catholic primary school. She loves reading, music and going to the theatre. Helen also runs a Cub Scout pack and enjoys camping and being in the outdoors.
