Dear Parents and Carers of St George’s,
Photographs and Videos of Children in School and other Venues
This is a polite reminder of our school’s policies and procedures re: photographs and videos taken by parents and carers when they are attending events in school, church or any other venues where our children are present.
As part of our policy and procedures, we ask for parent/carer permissions to take and post photographs and videos of children who attend our school. There are a handful of parents and carers who do not agree to these permissions and we fully respect and adhere to this.
As such, we expect our whole school community to respect and support these families in their own right to choose where and when their child’s photo/video is taken and shared.
We are more than happy for our parents and carers to take photos and videos at St George’s but parents and carers must ensure they limit their photographs and videos to their own children. If other children are inadvertently photographed or recorded, please remove them for the frame or keep for your own personal use and do not share on any social media.
We also ask our families to be respectful to both the children and staff who have worked hard on our Christmas productions to be discrete when taking photographs and not spoil anyone else’s viewing or enjoyment of the productions by standing up and taking photos/videos during the performance.
Wherever possible, we will give parents and carers the opportunity to take
These are precious memories for everyone to keep and look back at when our children are all grown up. We know that a lot of schools do not allow photos and videos to be taken during school events and this is not the road we want to go down. I know that we can continue to work together in partnership to ensure that we don’t have to take such measures at St George’s.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best wishes,
Mrs Anne Bullerwell
Executive Headteacher
